Otter Cove, Acadia National Park

In Acadia National Park, one dramatic scene is often followed by another.  Such is the case at Otter Cove.  As you drive along the park’s loop road, you make the breathtaking curve around Otter Point — then dip inland.  In between two fingers of land (one of them being Otter Point), the road makes a sweeping turn as it circles around the inlet known as Otter Cove.

This area is beautifully lit in the early morning.  The sight of the triple-arched stone bridge is what caused me to park the car for a moment, and take a picture.

On the other side of the road, there’s more water, as the cove continues to cut inland.  Far in the distance, you can see Cadillac Mountain and Dorr Mountain.
