Winter Hikes: 8: Enchanted Rock State Park, Texas

0

This odd formation rises from the Texas Hill Country near Fredericksburg. Not only can you hike around the granite dome, you can also climb to the top of it, and then play in some rocky caves and passageways. Numerous trails let you make this a short visit or a day-long hike. Arrive early, though, because crowds often overwhelm the small parking area, leading to a back-up on the roads.

Location

Enchanted Rock State Park is north of Fredericksburg, Texas on Route 965.
