Cedaredge, Colorado

As you drop down from the Grand Mesa Byway, the nice little town of Cedaredge is waiting to greet you.

Cedaredge has a small business district on Main Street, just off CO Route 65.  I stopped for a moment and walked down the street, and bought a snack inside Duckwall’s Variety Store.

The First Baptist Church of Cedaredge is located at the end of the business district.  The church was built in 1909, at a cost of $3,500.

The Surface Creek Valley area, around Cedaredge, is filled with apple orchards.  Cedaredge celebrates its local fruit farms with the annual Cedaredge AppleFest, held every year on the first weekend of October.
Leaving Cedaredge, continue south on CO 65.  The highway ends about 10 miles south of Cedaredge, at CO 92.  Take a left, and head east on 92, towards Hotchkiss and Paonia.
