Winter Hikes: 13: Boynton Canyon, Sedona

0

Just up the road in Flagstaff, it may be snowing, but head over the Mogollon Rim to Sedona, and you’ll have a much better shot at beautiful, snow-free weather in winter.  And if the weather is good, why not try one of Sedona’s most popular hikes?  Check out the Boynton Vortex, then hike beyond a popular resort, to the end of the trail and the end of Boynton Canyon.

Location

Boynton Canyon and the Boynton Vortex are located north of West Sedona.  From 89A, take Dry Creek Road north, which turns into Boynton Pass Road.  When you reach the T intersection, turn left onto Boynton Canyon Road, headed towards the resort, then watch for the hiking trailhead at the side of the road.
