Vermont Route 15
Jericho
After leaving Burlington, my plan was to make a swing to the north and east on Route 15, then pick up Route 108, the scenic drive through Smuggler's Notch. Along the way, I found a few good reasons to pause from the drive in the town of Jericho.

I stopped to admire Jericho's "Old Red Mill" -- the Chittenden Mill -- from the outside, but I really should have gone in. The mill's lower level houses a museum, where some of the mill's original equipment is on display. There's also an exhibit devoted to Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley, a local farmer who was the first person to ever photograph a snowflake. He ended up taking more than 5,000 images, and some of them are on display here.

Just up the road from the Old Mill, you'll find Jericho's United Methodist Church...

... next to several other big, old houses...

... and the Jericho Town Hall.

A bit further up the road, I stopped for a look at this interesting old barn.
